West Point on the Eno | Engagement Session.
Katie + Doman
West Point on the Eno // Durham, NC
Katie + Doman's engagement session made me extra, extra excited about photographing their wedding next Fall at Chatham Mills. Not only did I get to meet their cats + talk to them for too long about ramen, but I also got watch them make each other laugh for about two hours straight. Seriously. These two really know how to crack each other up + it is the best.
Engagement Session | North Carolina Museum of Art.
Gabby + Zach
North Carolina Museum of Art
Gabby + Zach's engagement session was pretty much just the perfect afternoon. They had the best ideas for where they wanted to take photographs + as a bonus, they were all places that were new to me. So I got to get the grand tour of Raleigh, while also hanging out with them & photographing their cutie pie faces.
To begin I met them (& their pup!) at Trophy Brewing on Maywood for a couple of pints. (*Sidenote: They oh so appropriately ordered Trophy Wife + Trophy Husband for their first round.) Then we made quick stops at the Raleigh Farmer's Market & their new home, before heading over to the North Carolina Museum of Art to catch the last few moments of sunset.
It. was. great.
(Now I just have to contain my excitement to photograph their wedding this coming fall at The Parlour at Manns Chapel, but I know that that'll be magic, too.) x
An Intimate Wedding at Piedmont Restaurant.
Piedmont Restaurant
401 Foster St. // Downtown Durham
When Max + Rosalinda contacted me to photograph their intimate wedding celebration at the beloved Piedmont Restaurant in Downtown Durham - well, let's just say I was very excited.
With its giant front windows + open balcony, Piedmont is an ideal space to work in as a photographer. It's central location in Downtown Durham was also perfect for whisking away the newlyweds to a secret sunset portrait session in Durham Central Park while their guests settled in around long, candle-lit tables to enjoy a menu created for the occasion by chef Greg Gettles.
The entire evening felt like one warm, dreamy dinner party and I truly never wanted it to end. Max + Rosalinda's beautiful wedding reminded me that all you ever need to celebrate is good food, good wine, & good people - and all of those were oh so very present.
Hello Tenfold | Durham-based Wedding Invitation Studio.
Hello Tenfold
A Stationary Design Studio // Durham, NC
I recently had the honor of photographing my incredibly talented & dear friend Ellie Snow when her work was featured on the Etsy Blog. Ellie is not only one of the kindest + smartest women that I have met since my move to Durham, but also an incredibly talented wedding invitation designer with a studio that is located right here in downtown Durham. If you are looking to keep your wedding local, I highly encourage you to check out her stunning wedding invitation suites (or at the very least to read a few of her recent articles like 10 Wedding Invitation Mistakes to Avoid or 5 Reasons to Hire a Small Studio for Your Wedding Invitations.) I truly cannot sing her praises enough. She's the sweetiest. x
Ariana | First Birthday Portraits.
Ariana Turns One
Home Session // Chapel Hill, NC
It was so, so lovely to spend a Wednesday morning documenting this sweetheart's very first birthday. The whole session felt natural, relaxed, and (most certainly) sentimental. It was a truly beautiful way to mark her first 365 days on Earth & to take time noticing just how much growing she has done in them.
Beach Wedding in Duck, NC | Sanderling Resort.
Mallory + Leland
Sanderling Resort // Duck, North Carolina
Mallory and Leland's late May elopement on the Outer Banks couldn't have been more beautiful. Their entire intimate celebration took place at the Sanderling Resort in Duck, NC, which provided the perfect backdrop for their destination wedding on the coast.
While their wedding day started out a bit cloudy (which is admittedly a photographer's dream), the sun came out just in time for their beachside ceremony officiated by Reverend Jay Bowman. (By the by, I absolutely recommend him if you are looking for an officiant for your Outer Banks wedding - he really is just as amazing as his raving reviews claim.)
Their reception followed in Keeper's Loft with a delicious meal shared around a long table and dance party that felt just right. Their flowers [Sugar Snap Events] and cake [Great Cakes!] were both absolutely stunning, as well.
I am so grateful and honored to have been there to document the entire celebration & wish these two all the best in their marriage. It certainly began on a special day filled to the brim with love & beauty. x
